Rohan de Saram and Will Sleath have played and recorded together in the ensemble Dreamtiger, and have a trio with pianist Tim Carey. Their recitals in Cornwall are their first appearances as a duo.
Rohan was born in the UK to Sri Lankan parents. He studied with Barbirolli and Casals, made his Carnegie Hall concerto debut with the New York Philharmonic in 1960 and played for three decades with the Arditti Quartet. Rohan has worked with Kodály, Shostakovich, Poulenc and Walton and has had countless works written for him. His many recordings include Vivaldi's sonatas, Britten's cello suites and Mayer's Ragamalas and Prabhanda.
Will specialises in period and ethnic flutes and in contemporary music, and has worked in Sweden, Germany and Britain, including with Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, and in the West End production of Lion King. He has recorded for radio, TV and disc.
