The Association of Independent Music (AIM) has announced details of ‘Indie-Con’, a new conference aimed at the independent music sector launching this July. The trade association has already confirmed guests from Glastonbury Festival, Domino, NME and Radio 1 for sessions that will explore essential areas of running a successful independent music business.
AIM Marketing and Events Manager Lara Baker said: "Indie-Con is an exciting new event for the independent sector, as it really encapsulates every area of business you need to master in order to run a successful independent company and get your artists out there. Sessions will also inform delegates on current industry developments and issues, so it’s a must-do event for all independent music companies and artists."
Taking place on 5th and 6th July at London’s Glazier Hall, Indie-Con will focus exclusively on the business needs of independent music companies and emerging, self-releasing artists. Areas explored will include a ‘music publishing 101’ session, how to get on the radio, approaching the media and PR, fan engagement and an ‘On the Road’ session about building a career in live music.
Delegates don’t need to be a member of AIM to attend, though members will receive a significant discount and will be able to attend the event for just £40 (+VAT) if they book an earlybird slot before 15th June.
Tickets are available now and you can find out more at AIM’s website.
