The Performance Centre at University College Falmouth is hosting a Music Industry Seminar and Music Showcase on 16 June with highly knowledgeable industry bodies Mark Palmer (Roadrunner Records) and Dave Newton (WeGotTickets) as guest speakers.
‘How to build a career in the music industry’ will be the topic of discussion on the panels throughout the, led by Adrian Bossey, Antti Saario and Rick Rogers from University College Falmouth. Other revered speakers on the day include singer-songwriter Mary Hampton (Cotillion) Johny Lamb singer-songwriter (Thirty Pounds of Bone) and founder of Lynched Recordings.
Following a speed networking session, the afternoon will see the launch of Pig Farm Recordings a new student run record label with a showcase of talent from the 3rd year Music & Performance graduating students. Artists to showcase include The Dancing Dead, Sarah.R.K, Eric by Eric, and Sophie Flynn with a guest appearance from 1st year band Hit the Deck, and a drinks reception. All attendee’s will receive the debut EP from Pig Farm Recordings featuring the performing artists.
As part of the Livedart & Contexture festival running from 13 – 17 June at The Performance Centre, there will be more music taking place throughout the evening with performances from Tiger Years, Something Anorak, EIT and Dancing Dead.
