Hellys International Guitar Festival

Hellys International Guitar Festival was set up in winter 2016, with the idea of producing a sustainable, community-based guitar festival that would bring leading international concert artists to Cornwall and promote local talent on the same bill.

We wanted to make Hellys affordable for families and young people, and to give opportunities to locals. So tickets are cheap, under 18s now access everything for free, and there are free guitar lessons for anyone who wants one. In addition, we encourage participation in other arts forms away from the guitar, with workshops for both adults and children, plus talks and poetry recitals taking place throughout the afternoons.

So, what’s happening in 2019? Well… we have expanded by a day, so Hellys now has twelve evening concerts, plus five lunchtime recitals, poetry, workshops, an infinite amount of free lessons, and a brand new project: “The H-Factor” – our fun, inclusive competition that features great prizes! Apart from new faces there will be familiar ones too – from musicians such as Andrea Dieci to Reflexation Therapy practitioner, Dr ChloĆ« Cyrus-Kent, who is available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Tickets for Hellys 2019 are on sale NOW, and it’s cheaper to buy in advance; so make sure you get yours early: this next edition of the festival is going to be even bigger and better than before.
